In 2006 I was invited to participate in a group show à ses parents, La Maison Blanche de Le Corbusier, in my friend Anthony Bannwart's hometown La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland. During this time I was interested in working observationally and intuitively. Site-specificity is a challenge that has the potential to raise interesting questions about how we engage with the natural environment architecturally and with our bodies. I was not consciously responding to the architecture of Le Maison Blanch per se. In hindsight, my act of tracing the surrounding garden can be thought of as a response to Le Corbusier's legacy and divisive vision. Also noteworthy is my aesthetic subconsciously creeping in despite my attempt to be observational. The circlular window frames a loose medley of flora, whereas the rectangular window frames architectural garden elements.
